Navette rings gained popularity as early as the 18th century, but its heyday was during the Victorian era. Their name comes from their shape - an elongated marquise resembling a boat (fr. navette). These rings were most often set with many diamonds, some of them in the middle were also decorated with colored stones such as rubies, emeralds, sapphires or opals.
